Voice of the CCO: Tammy McLeod on CCO Council Membership

Tammy McLeod, VP and Chief Customer Officer of Arizona Public Service Company (APS) and the Chief Customer Officer Council's 2010 Chief Customer Officer of the Year, highlights one of the value propositions of becoming a Council member.

Transcript for Voice of the CCO: Tammy McLeod on CCO Council Membership

Our decision to join the Chief Customer Officer Council was really one to get us access to more information and other chief customer officers. I think that's really the value proposition that the Council has to offer—access to these other folks who are out there in different industries but, perhaps, facing very similar problems and who are all working toward making their organizations more customer-centric and elevating customer satisfaction and customer loyalty across the board so that we don't necessarily have to go out and try things for the first time; somebody else may have already done that.

We can go out and, with a specific problem, call in the members of the Council and see who has experience in a similar setting. We can ask them for feedback. We can find out what worked and what didn't work; and, hopefully, we aren't, then, going out and experimenting at our customers’ expense. We can go out and try something based upon the value of all of the chief customer officers together.
